"Housing Benefits": The Campaign for a Fairer System |
PDF |
|
Between September 2010 and March 2012, t he SFHA ran a major campaign on the UK Government's proposed changes to Housing Benefit, which we believe will impact negatively upon tenants and housing associations and housing co-operatives across Scotland.
While the Welfare Reform Act became law on 8th March 2012, SFHA will continue to work with housing associations and co-operatives right across Scotland to help support them and their tenants to respond to the changes that this Act will bring forward.

Making Housing a National Priority |
|
The SFHA has joined forces with the Scottish Building Federation and GWSF to call on the Scottish Government to make housing a national priority, in order to meet acute and rising demand for affordable homes while providing a direct economic boost and job creation opportunities.

Local voices make a national campaign much more successful. That's why SFHA has produced a template letter for members to send to their MSPs, backing the call. All you have to do is fill in a few details about your organisation. Download a copy here |

The SFHA launched our election manifesto 2011 on 15th February.
Showcasing the best work of the sector, housing associations from across Scotland have contributed examples of outstanding projects and developments, from Fife Works to Fyne Homes, which provide homes, create jobs, tackle climate change and support vulnerable individuals. All in all, Scotland's housing associations and co-operatives are more than just landlords.
Immediately following the election, we:
- Held a reception in the Scottish Parliament. View the photos in our Events Gallery or on our Facebook page
- Produced a new About SFHA Leaflet
- Briefed MSPs on a range of issues affecting Scotland's housing associations and co-operatives
