THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
The Scottish Government launched two major consultations on housing, energy efficiency and sustainability in late June. The consultations are on plans to produce a step change in energy efficiency in Scotland's housing and are a response to the threats posed by Global Warming and the rising levels of fuel poverty caused by inflation busting fuel bill rises.
The first, on a Sustainable Housing Strategy, proposes a blueprint for energy efficiency and sustainability across Scotland's housing. The proposals cover 5 key themes: financing, new build, a national retrofit strategy for existing homes, minimum standards and skills and training. The second, Energy Efficiency Standards for Social Housing, focusses specifically on energy efficiency in existing council, housing association and housing co-operative homes. The proposed standards would be a follow up to the SHQS and would set energy efficiency targets for 2020 and beyond.
The consultations run over the summer until September. This event, run jointly with ALACHO and the Scottish Government, will give the opportunity to hear first hand about the proposals, to input into discussions and to help the SFHA frame its lobbying and responses to the consultation.
The event will start at 10.00am and end at 3.30pm, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
