Former Moray Housing Partnership Chair Recognised For Contribution
Laura Grant, former Chairperson of Moray Housing Partnership, has been recognised for her achievements whilst at the helm of the partnership by being presented with a specially engraved quaich.

Laura, who was one of the first tenants of the Partnership, and has been a member of the Committee of Management for almost 10 years, stepped down from the role of Chair in September. During this period, the partnership grew from a relatively small organisation, with no permanent members of staff, to a thriving housing association overseeing almost 500 homes throughout Moray and employing 17 permanent members of staff.

Upon presenting her with the quaich, her successor Barry Jarvis explained:

"As Chair, Laura has worked with the CEO to grow Moray Housing to the stable, quality organisation it is today. Over the years she has shown great personal commitment, tenacity and hard work which resulted in her being nominated for the Helen McGregor Award in 2009. She will undoubtedly be a hard act to follow and I am glad that as an association we have taken this time to recognise her achievements whilst Chair."

Upon receiving the quaich Laura said:

"It has been a great honour to be Chair of MHP and a real pleasure to work alongside so many dedicated and hardworking members of staff, without whom MHP would not be able to operate as well as it does. Whilst it is with some regret that I am no longer serving as Chair I will continue to serve on the Committee of Management and I am looking forward to continuing to help shape the future of the Partnership."

MHP's new Chair, Barry Jarvis, echoed this saying:

"There are significant challenges ahead for the sector over the coming year in the new Housing Charter and the changes to the Scottish Housing Regulator. Retaining Laura's knowledge and experience on the Management Committee is a great boost for the organisation and I look forward to her contribution to future debates."
